With PPC (pay per click) programs becoming ever popular, it’s easy to setup a website that can pay for its web hosting expenses with programs like YPN (Yahoo Publishers Network) and Google Adsense. These PPC programs allow you to display ads from advertiser networks that pay publishers every time a reader clicks on one of the advertisements. Depending on the PPC program, and your website niche, you could make anywhere from $.01 to $15.00 per single click.

You may be thinking, ‘come on, that’s too good to be true!’ I assure you it’s really easy to get enough clicks to easily cover the costs of your website…and even make a little bit of money off your hard work in no time. Don’t think that all you have to do is simply throw some ads up on your website and you instantly start pulling in advertising revenue. It does take a little bit of work. Your website needs about 100-150 page views a day for it to start paying for its $5.00-$10.00/m web hosting plan. Here are some tips for you to maximize your click through rate(how often your readers click your advertisements) and also the amount of traffic and page views you get.

  • If you have a personal website, it is a good idea to add another niche area to your website to make it more than just a talk about yourself website. You will make no money off PPC advertising on this style of website. Let’s pretend you have an Apple PowerBook. Change your website from a personal site to a personal site that also focuses on Apple PowerBooks. For instance, you would make a post – Today at school I was working on my PowerBook when I found this awesome program for mac computers that….
  • Write to your website until your fingers fall off – The more content you have on your website, the more search engine traffic you will get which means more page views and visitors. Google adsense and YPN generate their ads based off the content on your site. The more content on your web site, the more targeted and relevant your ads will be.
  • Be active on forums and blogs related to your website niche - This will bring targeted traffic to your own website. Every time you post to these sites you can leave a link behind in your signature/comment. This is a great way to filter search engine rank and interested readers to your web site.
  • If you run a blog, set it up to ping as many blog networks as possible. This will distribute your content throughout the internet.

With the above simple tips, you should be able to get those 100-150 page views a day required to pay for your domain name and web hosting plan. Keep in mind that there are a lot more things you can do than what I have listed above. I have just listed what I think is enough to get you your page views. Also remember that it will take time to do this. Don’t expect to be pulling in $2.00 clicks the first day your start your website/put ads on it. It can takes a few months to develop your content and for people to take interest in your work.

  1. Good post. I am just opening up our website, and do not know how to earn money from Good adsense. And your post reminds me. Thanks for sharing.

  2. PPC works the other way, too, by paying you when people click YOUR ads… it just takes a little study and practice, observation and study to learn the ins and outs of PPC. Study some PPC reviews here: http://www.Hot-Data.info/ppc/
